Maria Temnitschka

At the beginning of her artistic career, Maria Temnitschka designed and produced jewellery and objects made of metal. However, she soon turned to painting - initially abstract, since around 2000 in a figurative style.The main theme of recent years has been spatial representations such as Kafkaesque stairwell views and depictions of urban structures (views of typical Viennese courtyards, industrial buildings, peripheral zones).
Her favourite techniques: oil painting, drawing, experimental photography, object art.

Biography

1961 born in Lower Austria
1980-1984 Studies at the University of Applied Arts, master class for metal design
1994 Project funding of the BMUK and the BM for Foreign Affairs
1996 Draft assignment of the Lower Austrian Youth Department
2002-2006 Studies at the University of Applied Arts with Prof. Frohner and Prof.Müller, Ordinariat for Painting, Diploma with distinction
2004 Award Art - Museum Hollfeld, Deutschland
2006 (Würdigungspreis) - Award of the Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Culture
2007 Scholarship of the Emanuel and Sofie Fohn Foundation
2008 Social Action Art appreciation award (1st prize of the organisation Art for People in Need)
