Marie France Goerens
zu Künstlerhomepage
Marie France Goerens describes her work as an interplay between autonomous form and an installation-based, site-specific character. In doing so, she constantly navigates the tension between good and bad form, perfection and imperfection, realism and abstraction, shifting at will from the personal to the collective.
Many of her works begin with small paper models, allowing her to work experimentally, in which forms can develop intuitively—as their own independent spaces for thought and exploration—to later emerge as larger sculptures, realized in plaster, steel, wood, or other industrial materials.
It is important to her that her works do not rely on unambiguous narrative meanings; rather, she seeks to create situations in which perception, materiality, and movement interact with one another.
