The main focus of Evelyn Gyrcizka’s practice is on textile art and works on and with paper. For Gyrcizka, art is the poetry of simplicity and the concentration on what is fundamental. The motifs of her pages are abstract on the one hand, on the other hand there are references to real objects like hat, cup, suitcase, heart.
The objects she depicts are reduced to stencil-like shapes, there are linear formations as well as plane forms. Some images are executed with playful affection, others are dominated by archetypes. Gyrcizka manages to combine an innocent universe of objects with a strong belief to create a mysterious, magical cosmos. Evelyn Gyrcizka has been teaching at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna since 1985. She has participated in multitudinous exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Her work has been received many awards, the cultural price of the state of Lower Austria in 2000, among many others.

Gerhard Müller is a graphic artist with a strong reference to children’s drawings and art brut. The small drawings, often arranged in blocks, resemble journal-style chronicles. His visual content is the human figure, body parts, animals, the house, the garden, airplanes, ships... Things are extracted from reality – put into order and folded into the plane. Müller’s practice is not only about sparingness, simplicity and reduction, but also about narratives and poetry.
Gerhard Müller’s artistic production lies mainly in drawings and in one of a kind artist’s books. Since 1980, he has been teaching at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, a university professor at this institution since 2000. He has been involved in many solo and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally.
